This is a magnificant documentation of transit engineering history in Canada. The large format is worthy of the expanse of the navigation systems of this majestic land. The author takes us on a journey from the beginings of commercial transit via trunk roads and cannals of the colonial era to the massive undertaking of railroad construction and operation throughout modern day Canada. The book is full of rare photos and detailed maps of railways and waterways active and abandoned. A great way to cover your coffee table with just one volume of railway and waterway transit.
